Who we are

StartSmart is a service of Inovantage. This policy explains what information we collect when you use StartSmart, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

Your answers: the business idea you describe and your answers to the nine questions, so we can research and write your verdict and report.

Your contact details: your first name and email address, so we can send you your private link, your results and anything you buy.

Technical information: your country (to show the right currency and spelling), and a scrambled (hashed) form of your internet address, used only to prevent misuse of the free check.

How you found us: if you arrived from an advert, the campaign tags in the link (such as utm_source or fbclid) are saved with your check so we can tell which adverts work.

Payment information: payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

How we use it

To research your idea and write your verdict, report and any next stages you buy.

To email you your private link, your results, and service messages about things you have bought.

If you tick the marketing box, to send you occasional helpful emails. You can opt out at any time by replying to any email.

To answer your questions and provide support.

To keep the service safe and prevent abuse.

Cookies and advertising measurement

We use a small number of cookies and similar tools. Some are essential (for example, remembering your answers on your device). Others, such as the Meta Pixel, measure how people find and use StartSmart and only load if you accept cookies where the law requires it.

Who we share it with

The companies that help us run StartSmart: our hosting and database provider, Stripe (payments), Anthropic (the AI that writes your research), GoHighLevel (our customer messaging system) and Meta (advertising measurement, only with your consent where required).

We never sell your information, and we never share the content of your report with advertisers.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw consent at any time by emailing hello@startsmart.inovantage.co.uk.

If you are in the UK or EU, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).

How long we keep it

We keep your check and results so you can come back to them with your private link. If you ask us to delete your information, we do so within 30 days, except where we must keep records for tax or legal reasons.
